Excerpt: Thirstday's 1-liner


She woke before her alarm and rolled onto her back, feeling the bracelet against her wrist. She reached for it with her right hand. Smooth silver from the fair. She smiled in the darkness, contemplating the notion that someone in the world could be falling for her. She brought the bracelet to her lips and kissed, feeling his cheek. She kissed again, breathing him in. Yesterday had ended as beautifully as it started – simply, sincerely.

She admired his qualities. She liked how he listened, how he noticed what was important to her. He knew when to tease and when to absorb, reflect. She was careful, now, not to allow herself to run wild.
